Luke Severn and Elyane Laussade make their triumphant return to performing as a duo with a concert of some of their favourite works for cello and piano.
They are presenting a program of pre-loved works, as well as pieces they have never played together before. The gorgeous transcription of the Adagio and Allegro by Schumann, followed by Luke’s “…when the world was young“, are the ‘old friends’ they are revisiting. Arvo Part’s meditative Spiegel im Spiegel is new to both of them, and they come together for the first time to close with the Brahms’ magnificent Sonata in E Minor Opus 38.
