If you would like to celebrate the sesquicentennial of the Beethoven’s birth, come to the 3MBS Beethoven Marathon Sunday, 23 February 2020 at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
I will be performing first in the 8 pm concert the rarely performed Beethoven Rondo for Piano and Orchestra in Bb Major WoO 6 with the Corpus Medicorum Orchestra and Michael Dahlenburg conducting. A short work of only 9 minutes duration, this little-known piece is a single movement originally intended as the third movement for his B-flat Major piano concerto, later arranged by his student, Carl Czerny.
